Description
Since the peace of Westphalia in 1648, Sweden has not been drawn into a major European war, and has maintained a strict neutrality. The Swedish approach has been to keep a strong national army, home guard, and armament industry at peak potential to present a formidable challenge to any potential aggressor. In the 1890s, the Swedish contracted with Mauser Oberndorf in Germany for thousands of Mauser rifles, and by the end of the decade, Carl Gustav and Husqvarna were producing Mausers under license in Sweden. The Swedes continued to develop their Mausers over the coming decades, remained neutral during WW1 and WW2, and supplied 77,000 Mausers to Finland during their Winter War with Russia in 1939-40. Swedish Mausers remain highly regarded among collectors, shooters, and hunters today for their historical significance, quality, and accuracy, leading Steve Kehaya and Joe Poyer to write an informative technical guide/reference book on the subject in 1999, revised into a third edition in 2011. This "SWEDISH MAUSER RIFLES" GUSTAV HUSQVARNA WW2 SNIPER SCOPE BAYONET REFERENCE BOOK is in near mint, unread condition, with only some light scattered storage wear evident (most pictured).
