This is a real USGI sling not a cheap foreign copy.
WW2 Slings were often reissued and treated for damp locations, these were then  MRT stamped and dated for that year.
A good way to check USGI slings from the fakes is to look at the back side of the female snap, it should be a raised embossed washer, not flat ,this gives it strength. On the flat side of the male snap you want to see the "mud ring" it should look nicely finished, the Fakes look crudely done.  Also on a used USGI sling you should see some wear on the webbing because of the forearm swivel. If these are hidden from view you most likely have a Fake, and there are many on ebay. Check my fully exposed pictures and you will see what I mean. Questions contact me and good luck bidding. Also be ware that there are many fakes on ebay and many are now using surplus parts, snaps etc. There are almost no new original carbine slings available so beware when there isn't any wear on the webbing.
