Arabic ney by master Husseyin. High quality thick reed, from Hatay region near Syria featuring superb craftsmanship and built standard. This ney is crafted to be played professionally so high octaves and low 'rast' note are easy to produce in high accuracy.
Specifications:
Neys are 22-24mm thick
All neys are 100% tuned to 440HZ
Mouthpiece is hand carved
We have both right hand on top, and left hand on tops neys. Specify on your order which one you would like. By default we send left hand on top.
You should know:
The most recommended scale for Arabic music D (Dokah) or E (busalik). The scale is named after the second hole, when 5 fingers are close.

All neys are hand picked and checked carefully. The neys are made by Husseyin, who lives near the Syrian border. Husseyin harvests the canes himself to make sure only the highest grade canes are used. The canes are 'Hatai' near the border with Syria, an area that is world famous for it's reed's quality. Every ney is checked and tested by a neyzen (professional ney player) for full playability in both high and low registers.
Thanks to his perfect location, Husseyin, the owner of 'Ney Adana', is able to collect himself the canes to create these magnificent instruments. It all begin with choosing the good cane, with the right proportions, age, color and more. It is said that only 1 out of 1,000 canes is good for Arabic ney.
