Description
This is a heavy glass box that was probably a cigarette box. It is etched "Atlas Foundry, Tacoma." This is the plant in Tacoma, Washington. Atlas Casting and Technology began in 1899 making castings for the timber industry. It advanced over the years to make castings for nuclear power plants and other sophisticated machinery. It was bought out in 1997 by Bradkin. The box is 8 & 1/4" by 4" and 1 & 3/4" tall. It has some chips on the inside edge of the base and a little tought spot on the right bottom corner of the lid. It is a handsome piece in reasonable condition. I can't find any other listings or reference to this item.
