The Devil Wears Prada theatre show: What you need to know about the West End musical and how to find tickets

Learn all about the fashionable stage adaptation and plan your Devil Wears Prada musical trip

Welcome to the cut-throat world of fashion. Andrea “Andy” Sacks, an aspiring journalist, lands a job as assistant to Miranda Priestly, the fearsome editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. We first met the characters in Lauren Weisberger’s novel, based on her real experiences.
Then came the iconic 2006 movie starring Meryl Streep, and now we get to see a stage musical version with an original score by the pop legend Sir Elton John. Once again we’ll see Andy tempted into this glamorous new realm, mentored by art director Nigel, and gradually becoming both fully committed to her job and a fashionista herself.
But that change comes at the cost of her relationship with chef boyfriend Nate, her friends, and her relationship with fellow assistant Emily – especially when Andy goes to Paris Fashion Week in her place. This is a new version of the stage musical, which had its world premiere in Chicago in 2022, and promises a devilishly good time.
You can find seats for the London production of The Devil Wears Prada on Telegraph Tickets. Check the site for the latest prices.
The Devil Wears Prada had a sensationally good movie cast, led by Oscar winner Meryl Streep as the imperious Miranda Priestly. The film also featured Anne Hathaway as Andy, Stanley Tucci as Nigel, and was a star-making role for a young Emily Blunt as Emily.
The Chicago premiere likewise assembled a great ensemble, including Beth Leavel as Miranda and Taylor Iman Jones as Andy. We only know two of the UK cast so far, but they’re both fabulous picks. Playing Miranda is Vanessa Williams (Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Tony nominee for Into the Woods), and playing Nigel is Matt Henry (finalist on The Voice, Olivier Award winner for Kinky Boots).
As well as music by Elton John, it has lyrics by Shaina Taub (Tony nominee for Suffs), plus direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell (Tony winner for La Cage aux Folles and Kinky Boots). Gird your loins!
The Devil Wears Prada runs at the Dominion Theatre, which is on Tottenham Court Road, right off Oxford Street and close to Covent Garden and other theatres in London’s West End.

Yes. If you loved the iconic movie about working for the boss from hell, you’ll want to book your tickets now for the equally stylish The Devil Wears Prada musical in the West End.
None other than music legend Sir Elton John. He previously composed the amazing scores for musicals The Lion King, Aida and Billy Elliot the Musical, not to mention some of the all-time great pop songs, such as I’m Still Standing, Your Song and Candle in the Wind.
Vanessa Williams is exciting casting as Miranda Priestly – you’ll recognise her from Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives. Starring opposite her as Nigel is Matt Henry, a finalist on The Voice and Olivier Award winner for Kinky Boots.
Anne Hathaway played the plucky Andrea (or Andy) in the movie – but apparently the producers’ first pick for the role was Rachel McAdams. Other actresses such as Kirsten Dunst, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Kate Hudson were also discussed.
